Popdolls
January 28, 2008
I made these two dolls for some friends who had to undergo surgery recently. They’re little sympathetic healers, bringing love and “get well soon” energy to the recipients.
The first one I made for Oliver, a 3 month old baby who had to undergo heart surgery.
The second one I made for Elias, who had surgery to remove thyroid cancer.
Each doll is about 10″ tall, made of muslin, with yarn hair and a felt appliqued heart, a bandage around the affected area, and a handknit sweater. Elias’s doll also got a scarf, because I figured after throat surgery he could use it.
